Chairman’s Corner
Hello Welding Community,
I hope this AWS bulletin finds everyone enjoying the first days of spring. Our last Section meeting was held March 14. Our speaker was Greg Pike from Newport News Ship who spoke to a large crowd of 60 people on welding in accordance with Navy specifications. Our next section meeting is going to be another interesting one. We have Bill Newell coming from Mooresville, North Carolina to speak to our section about welding on race cars. Mr. Newell has been heavily involved in the power generation, industrial manufacturing, heavy and highway construction as well as auto racing industries for over 40 years. This is our sections “Student Night”, we would love to see a nice group of welding students attend this meeting.
We hope you will attend this meeting on the 11th of April at Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton.
