Greetings Everyone,

Power generation windmills are becoming more and more popular these days. As you drive by one have you ever wondered how they work…. or better yet how they are built? Well you are in luck as this November General Electric has graciously offered to open their doors to us and host our first plant tour of the year. Matt Harold, Facilities Engineer at GE Renewable Energy, will provide us with an introduction on GE followed by a plant tour of their manufacturing center.

As this is a plant tour, GE has asked us to be mindful of the following safety and security requirements to ensure everyone has a good tour. At the bottom of this meeting notice you will find detailed instructions/directions on how to access the facility.

  • No one under the age of 18 allowed
  • Long pants and closed toe shoes required
  • Safety glasses required (If you wear eye glasses you need either side shields on your glasses or safety glasses that go over your eye glasses.)
  • Check in at the guard gate and follow the road to parking lot
  • Report to the guard shack for further instruction on entering
  • No photos allowed during tour
