Join us for this “Lunch-n-Learn” presentation on industry updates from both Alberta Welding Optimization Committee (AWOC) and NAIT.
 
With the average age of a welder in Canada at 55+ years old. Industry, stakeholders, and government need to collaborate to ensure new Welders are drawn into the welding field and effectively retained. Reviewing proposed changes to the Alberta Apprenticeship system as well as discussing streamlining qualifications to enhance welder career opportunities will presented by the Alberta Welding Optimization Committee.
 
The introduction of a new entry point for welding Education opportunities from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology will top off our Lunch hour Session.
