“Chairman’s Corner” Greetings welding community, I’d like to thank all that were able to attend our February meeting at Hampton University. The joint meeting with AWS and ASNT was a tremendous success, with attendance topping 50 people. Special thanks to Moneka Toves, Starr Dauria and J.J. Bosco for setting up this meeting. Our attendees enjoyed getting a look at the tools used in NDT. The student participants appreciated having their samples tested as they watched. March is Women’s History Month. Our March meeting will be “Celebrating Women in Welding Related Careers”. Our very own Pierrette Swan will be moderating a panel of women with varying roles in the welding industry. You do not want to miss out on seeing who our panelists are and hear what they have to say. Following the moderation period, there will be a question and answer period open to the audience. This meeting is open to all. Please come out and join us. Our meeting space is graciously donated to us by Hampton University. As always, our section is looking for new faces to join our executive/planning committee. If you have any interest in joining, please let any board member know and we will add you to our meeting distribution list. We are also looking for meeting and/or tour ideas for our events.
