Greetings welding community,

I’d like to thank all that were able to attend our November meeting at Tidewater Tech in Norfolk. Rick Scharenbroch, from Miller Electric, gave an outstanding presentation on their Augmented Arc Reality Welding System. Feedback from attendees was very positive.

Our February 9th meeting is a joint meeting with our ASNT friends. They will be demonstrating non-destructive testing (NDT) of welded samples. Some of the samples being tested will be provided by students attending local weld training facilities. This will include high school welding students. The Tidewater Section has really been looking forward to this meeting. We love getting a look at the next generation of our industry.

As always, our section is looking for new faces to join our executive/planning committee. If you have any interest in joining, please let any board member know and we will add you to our meeting distribution list. We are also looking for meeting and/or tour ideas for our events. If you have any suggestions, please reach out to any of our board members listed in this bulletin.
