Event Summary: The Nashville Section was on hand for the February 4 SkillsUSA welding and welding fabrication competition at Tennessee Technology Center in Red Boiling Springs, TN. Nashville Section member and CWI David Porter was among the competition judges.
A meeting was held during the competition for educators present and student competitors who had finished their event. The focus of the discussion was learning opportunities found through AWS membership, as well as scholarship and grant opportunities for students, educators, and educational institutions.
After the awards ceremony, the Nashville Section awarded all competitors safety equipment and hand tools to help them work safely and effectively as they pursue their careers in welding.
