Staff and students at the Nashville TN College of Applied Technology welcomed the Nashville Section to their facility for a night of welding education and fellowship. Clarkson University Metallurgy Professor and AWS Fellow Daryush Aidun educated in-person and virtual attendees with a technical discussion titled, “Can Two Different Metals/Alloys be Successfully Welded Together?”. Daryush explained how to accomplish joining of dissimilar metals and how stresses can be controlled in order to obtain a solid weld joint while limiting distortion and stresses. A highpoint of the night was the introduction of Abbey Carlson as the new Nashville Section Social Media Chair. The Nashville Section supported the students efforts, by providing tools and equipment as door prizes. Thanks to TCAT Nashville for their continued support!
