The Mobile Section held it’s last meeting of 2020-2021 on May 13th at Serta Brewing Company. The Mobile Section Executive Committee will now meet during the summer months to organize and plan for upcoming meetings and events for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.
Bill Faircloth was the speaker at the May meeting and gave a presentation on Corrosion Failure Analysis of Austenitic Stainless Steel. Also included in his presentation and discussion was microbiologically influence corrosion (MIC) along with several other forms of corrosion he has experience over the duration of his career. PDH certificates were issued to local CWI’s that attended the meeting. Brandon Neely was presented his District 9 CWI of the Year award. Everyone received two drink tickets to enjoy some local craft beer compliments of the section. A local food truck was on the premises for anyone wanting to purchase food. A toolbox, tote box, t-shirts and other various door prizes were given away. The section also held a raffle for a DeWalt grinder and an Optrel welding helmet.
