October 2018 Meeting Notice - Skana Aluminum Tour

AWS Lakeshore Section Tour of Skana Aluminum
Thursday, October 4th, 2018

Greetings AWS Lakeshore Members and Friends,

The first October meeting of the AWS Lakeshore Section will be a tour of Skana Aluminum. Skana is a fully integrated mill; including melting furnaces, direct chill casting, hot and cold rolling, slitting, and tension leveling. Skana produces sheets, coils, and circular blanks for various commercial and industrial uses. Skana services Automotive, Cookware, Electrical Transformer, and Lighting markets, just to name a few.

Skana is the oldest and largest aluminum rolling mill in Wisconsin, with a history that stretches back to the founding of the MIRRO Company, in 1917. Join us for an interesting and exciting tour of a local company that is both a piece of Wisconsin history, and helping to innovate, modernize, and lead the new economy!

During dinner there will be a 50/50 raffle to raise money for the scholarship fund.

PLEASE NOTE: Welding Career Night will also be held at LTC on 10/25/18
