Portland AWS Section February Meeting
Greetings AWS Portland Section Members and Friends,
Below are the details of our upcoming meeting.
Shawn McDaniels currently runs the Big Bend Community College Program in Big Bend Washington. He has worked on both large and small repair jobs in his career, provided robotic welding consulting, and has even had welds in the South Pole and in the 1996 Olympic games. While having held many positions in the local AWS Sections, he is currently District Director for District 19, and has received the prestigious CWI of the Year award and attended the Instructors Institute in Miami, held yearly by the AWS.
Shawn will be a conducting a short seminar on the fundamentals of aluminum welding, and will have hands on with various equipment used in both GTAW and GMAW welding of aluminum alloys. The AWS Portland Section will be providing Pizza and refreshments.
