Recap: AWS District 12 Joint Meeting and Tour of Broadwind Heavy Fabrications – Apr 22nd

April 22, 2022 – Broadwind Heavy Fabrications; Manitowoc, WI
The District 12 joint meeting started with an extensive tour of Broadwind Heavy Fabrications in Manitowoc Wisconsin. Broadwind provides cutting, welding, machining, coating and assembly services for a wide range of heavy industrial and energy producing customers. Broadwind provides services from 3 divisions in five loacations with the Manitowoc location providing 325,000 sq. ft. of indoor production area and is located on a 30 acre company site. The Manitowoc facility is well know for the production of windmill towers for the largest power generating windmills and 140-Ton rail mounted Navy cranes. In 2021 Broadwind won the Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce Award for the “Coolest Thing Made In Wisconsin”. After the tour there was a dinner that included an update of District 12 activities by Dale Lange, District 12 Director. Dale also presented District and Meritorious Service Service awards for District and Section members that were in attendance.
