AWS working with Boy Scouts of American at the Indy Car Race – 8/21

AWS working with Boy Scouts of America
at the Indy Car Race

Saturday, August 21st

World Wide Technologies raceway in Madison Illinois

Are you interested in spending a few hours showing the joy that comes from learning the welding trade?

The St. Louis Section is once again partnering with the Boy Scouts of America at the Indy Car Race at World Wide Technologies raceway in Madison Illinois (700 Raceway Blvd, Madison, IL 62060), as part of the BSA STEM Lane.

As a volunteer for this event you will spend time showing children and young adults how to use a FCAW-S machine and weld together an Eagle.
If you are interested in helping out please reach out to the AWS STL chairman Travis Jumper ([email protected]). We have set up two hour blocks of time and we are looking for four volunteers for each of those time blocks (see outline below). The event will be on August 21st from 0900 until 1900, the first shift will help set up the area and the last shift will help tear everything down. If you are interested let Travis know what time block(s) you would be willing to help. It is a great event and a lot of fun watching the young people build something they get to keep.
