A note from our friend Joe Marushia, who recently toured West Coast Customs:

“West Coast Customs, a luxury automotive restyling center, founded in 1994 by Ryan Friedlinghaus and Quinton Dodson, focuses on the customization of vehicles. Automobiles are stripped down and rebuilt from the ground up to suit the customers’ desires. Body, paint, interior, and even suspension and framework are customized.

West Coast Customs bring the experience to your home via channels such as YouTube, Hulu, Velocity and others. Included in Ryan’s clientele are Shaquille O’Neal, Justin Bieber and Will.IAm., who are not just regular customers, but business partners and friends to Ryan.

West Coast Customs uses state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and innovative techniques to lead the charge in new developments and ideals used in the custom automotive industry. First-class welders, woodworkers, fiberglass workers and engineers are united to design and build one-of-a-kind vehicles for their excusive clientele.

I enjoy watching the many episodes of West Coast Customs, not just for the entertainment of a few guys rebuilding an old car or truck and resurrecting and new-and-improved ride, but also for the crazy and amazing new ideas that stretch the imagination and talent of Ryan and his crew.

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of touring the West Coast Customs shop in Burbank, California. What an exciting adventure I had getting to see first-hand some of the vehicles from past episodes and, of course, getting to meet Ryan, himself!

Ladies and gentlemen of the American Welding Society, I wish you to have an excellent and exciting experience as I had.
