Event Summary: The Pittsburgh Section along with the Parkway West CTC Student Section attended a plant tour at the Universal Stainless facility in Bridgeville, PA., which produces semi-finished and finished specialty steel long products and plate, including stainless steel, tool steel, bearing steel, gear steel and aircraft quality low alloy steels, in a wide variety of grades and forms. The company has four facilities in operation, Bridgeville & Titusville PA, North Jackson Ohio, and Dunkirk, NY. The products are sold to service centers, forgers, rerollers and original equipment manufacturers for further processing and used in a wide variety of industries including Aerospace, Power Generation, Oil & Gas, and Heavy Equipment manufacturing. The products produced at the Bridgeville facility are utilized by customers as semi-finished long products which are used to produce finished bar, rod and wire products, and the semi-finished flat rolled products are used to produce fine gauge plate, sheet, and strip products.
