Robert W. Roth is President/CEO of RoMan Manufacturing, Inc. RoMan Manufacturing is a second-generation family business specializing in the design and manufacturing of water-cooled transformers and DC power supplies used for industrial applications such as resistance welding, glass melting and forming, plating and furnace applications. Robert (Bob) began his career with the Hydra-matic Division of General Motors and then joined the RoMan Manufacturing in 1987. Bob graduated in 1985 from Kettering University, formerly General Motors Institute, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Administration. He was recognized by the university with its Engineering Achievement Award in 2012. He is also a graduated of Leadership Grand Rapids (2002) and the Institutes for Healing Racism (2004). Meeting Details We will be meeting at the Saltgrass Steakhouse located at 2200 Lamar Blvd in Arlington, Tx 76006. Tuesday April 20th. Dinner from 6:15 – 7:00 pm and the meeting begins at 7:00 pm. Do not forget to bring your donations for Irving Cares (a division of the North Texas Food Bank). Bring 2 cans or boxes of dry goods and receive a raffle ticket for a drawing at the end of the meeting. Section Scholarships The Tim Hatten CWI/CWEng Scholarship is available for all North Texas Section Members who are interested in advancing their carriers and taking the next step. Nominations (Extended through April 20th) You should have already received an email regarding nominations for our board positions. Yes, it is that time once again to nominate your colleagues and coworkers to be a part of your AWS Section Board. If you know someone who would be interested in holding a board position nominate them for one of the board positions. Nominations close April 15th and voting will begin a few days later. See the nomination form below, print it off and email it back to the section email address at [email protected]. We also have plenty of volunteer positions available as well if you or your colleagues are interested in being an active member. May Meeting Our May meeting is scheduled for May 18th, our May meeting is our Scholarship Awards Presentation and Welding Jeopardy Game. Come join us for an evening of fun and play along and test your welding knowledge against your colleagues and our up and coming welding students. June Fundraiser June 19th is our annual Tim Hatten Sporting Clays event. Come spend the day with your father, son, friend or colleague and bust some caps and clays for a great event. This is an opportunity to honor our colleague Tim Hatten and raise funds to support our Tim Hatten CWI/CWEng Scholarship Program.
