October 2018 Newsletter and Meeting Notice
Greetings North Texas Section Members,
Join the AWS North Texas section as we hear
from Warren Hankammer as he shares his presentation
“Preheat and Cooling, what’s the Big Deal?”
Warren has a BS degree in Engineering from LeTourneau University. He has worked for welding equipment manufacturers, filler metal manufacturers and welding supplies distributors. Most of his life Warren earned his living by telling people how to solve a problem, whether it had been a welding problem, improving flow, setting up procedures or automating.
This will be a technical meeting so CWI’s can join us and receive a Professional Development Hour for their certification renewal requirements.

PRESENTATION: 7:00 pm (Free to attend)
Attending the meeting is always free and open to anyone. You do not need to be an AWS member to attend. While RSVP for the meeting only is not required it is strongly encouraged. Please register for your dinner request by emailing [email protected].
If you would like to purchase a meal we have Pizza available $5 for 2 slices and a drink. (CASH ONLY PLEASE) Your pizza request must be received by 5:00 pm Monday, October 15th.

Don’t forget the canned food drive.
2 cans of food for the North Texas Food bank and receive 1 ticket for the drawing to be held at the end of monthly section meetings!
Tim Hatten Memorial CWI Scholarship
This scholarship is for those of you who meet the minimum qualification to become CWIs. It will cover the cost of your exam while the you serve as the section representative in the seminar getting the knowledge and books for no cost. This is a great opportunity for the growth you’re looking for in your career.
