About the speaker: William Carter joined GE’s Global Research Center in 1983, and has conducted research programs in numerous manufacturing techniques including casting, coating, forging, and spray forming. He now works in the Additive Manufacturing Laboratory, where he conducts research in novel Additive Manufacturing systems, concentrating on powder bed fusion. In addition to his work at GE, Dr. Carter is an Adjunct Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Clarkson University. Dr. Carter received a Bachelor’s Degree from RIT, a Master’s Degree from MIT, and a Ph.D. from RPI, all in mechanical engineering. He has published more than 80 technical articles and a book chapter. He holds 41 US patents and is the 1999 winner of the Alfred H. Geisler Award for Significant Achievement from the local chapter of ASM. See all the details HERE
