Number of Attendees: 250 approximately
Event Summary: The GNOSEF at Tulane was held 2-18&19, 2025. The N.O. Section judges projects & awards per this criteria; “A $150 check & Certificate & copy of the WJ in the Senior Division and a $100 check & Certificate & WJ for the best project in the Welding or Materials Joining field. Honorable mention Certificates may be awarded for other deserving(s) at the judges discretion.” The junior projects were displayed & judged Tuesday & the Senior projects were displayed & judged Wednesday. The Senior winner was Jaymon Williams for his project entitled “To Blast or not to Blast – Surface Prep of Carbon Steel (with & w/o welding), Before Coating Affects Corrosion Mitigation.” The junior winner was Caleb Chaney for “Electric Car Charging-Self Charging Cars Can Fix the Future.” Letters to their teachers were sent thanking them for encouraging their students to study the vast field of welding for next year’s fair & beyond.
