📣Join Us 9/25 for Section Hybrid Technical Meeting🧑🏼‍🏭

Come join us in Portland, TN!  TCAT Portland (Nashville Satellite) will be hosting our Section’s Event on September 25th at 6:00 PM CST.

Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualification Records (WPQ) explained.

ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (B&PVC) inspector Duane Morrison will be on hand to educate and inform all of us on how to read, understand, and properly use welding documentation. Duane will be using AWS D1.1 documentation for his presentation, but the information he provides can be used across both AWS and ASME codes. Welders, welding engineers, welding supervision, and others responsible for welding operations are expected to understand the requirements found on Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and other welding documentation. Come learn a little bit more about it.

Duane is employed by Bureau Veritas, and performs inspections at the Lochinvar LLC facility in Lebanon, TN. Lochinvar builds thousands of ASME Code pressure vessels each year, so Duane understands the documentation involved.

There will be a social hour AT 5:00 PM with a meal provided by the good folks at the Portland TCAT, with the technical meeting beginning at 6:00 PM.

Send us an email at nashville@awssections.org to let us know whether you are attending in-person or attending on-line.

Professional Development Hours (PDH) are available for those in attendance. An email address is required so I know where to send the certificates.

I hope to see you there.

Curtis Duncan
