I was glad to see everyone who turned out for our February Blacksmithing meeting. We had several new faces within the crowd. This month will be both our Past Chairman’s and Ladies Night. Come join us as we recognize the hard work that these men and women have given to support our industry. To help us in recognizing these folks, who better than Robert Roth, our 2020 AWS President.
Robert (Bob) is currently the President/CEO of RoMan Manufacturing. Roman Manufacturing specializes in the design and manufacture of water-cooled transforms and DC power supplies. Robert also currently serves on several boards including his position as Director and President for the AWS Board of Directors. For our meeting, he is going to providing us an update on AWS along with a presentation on Codes, Standards, and Talent.

Scholarships for Instructors and Educators
Scholarships are available for welding educators to pursue continuing education or take professional development courses. The deadline to apply for National and District Educator Scholarships is April 1st. Learn more at www.aws.org/educatorscholarships.
AWS Mobile Section Board
Have you ever thought of a good topic for a meeting or wished to be more involved with AWS. As we get closer to the end of this year, we will be looking for more volunteers. Come ask any of the board members of how you can become more involved with AWS.
Instructors
Please post this meeting notice in an area around your school that is easily accessible to your welding students. As we are moving to Eventbrite for registration, students will need to start registering themselves to attend. You are more than welcome to forward them this meeting notice, but even easier simply print it out and they can scan the above QR Code with their phone to link to our Eventbrite registration page.
