May 2019 Meeting Cancellation Notice
It is with great regret the Mobile Section of the AWS must inform you of the cancellation of the May 9th, 2019 Careers in Welding Meeting. While everybody makes plans and schedules appointments, not everything is always doable. Under certain circumstances, regardless of whether we cause them or not, we have to make changes to our plans. The proposed presentation presented conflicts in dates with resources and time availability to ensure the May Section meeting would be worthy of your time, we regrettably must cancel. The news of the cancellation was extremely disappointing to the Executive Committee Members that serve the Mobile Section.
Since it is the end of our program year, the Executive Committee nominates individuals for incoming officers for your consideration. Our newly nominated officers for the upcoming 2019-2020 year are:

1st Vice Chair Chris Pawlowicz
2nd Vice Chair Mike Barnett
Secretary Brenda Amos
Treasurer Clay Byron
These nominees are highly qualified and have all the necessary skills for the positions and are very active members of our Section. Their leadership skills exemplify what is essential for the growth of the American Welding Society Mobile Section. I propose the support from all the Section Members for the nominations. Please let it be known via email to myself or Brenda Amos @ [email protected] if you disapprove, otherwise these individuals will serve as you officers for 2019-2020. No reply will indicate your approval.
Over the next several months the Executive Committee with be organizing next year’s program agenda. We appreciate your involvement with the local Mobile Section and welcome your comments and suggestions.
Additionally the Executive Committee would like to hear from you if you would be interested in helping serve the Mobile Section AWS as a Committee Member. Please reach out to one of the Section officers if you are interested. We will resume our meetings again in September 2019 and our endeavor is to make it a spectacular program year!
It’s hard to believe a whole year has passed since I became your Chairman. It’s just gone by so fast. It has been a good year, I hope we collectively have met your expectations for the year. Thanks to the great work of our committee chairs and members, and remarkable member engagement. We hosted 7 events, affording members great and fun-filled networking opportunities and informative professional development sessions from industry leaders. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. And, of course, I would be totally remiss if I didn’t thank our great and dedicated sponsors. Without their help, we would not have been able to provide the number and quality of events for you. Their support, monetary and in-kind, allows us to bring events to you at a reasonable price. So, speaking on behalf of the entire Section, thank you!
