Boy Scout Welding Merit Badge Clinic
Put on by Ben Newcomb, Section Chair, and David Diljak, Section Secretary.
The 33 scouts from 7 different troops (Troops 38, 113, 724, 736, 760, 838, and 6724) gathered to earn their Welding Merit Badge. In addition to learning the classroom portion from Ben Newcomb and David Diljak, and being able to complete their MIG welding project required to earn the merit badge, the scouts were exposed to live demonstrations from 17 industry representatives or Madison College student volunteers in: OFC, SMAW, PAC, GTAW, and water jet cutting. Each scout also received a Boy Scout logo that was cut on donated stainless (from Sub-Zero) on the water jet, and they were treated to lunch thanks to a donation from Endres Manufacturing.
