For twenty-five years, the American Welding Society’s Leadership Symposium has developed the leadership capabilities of its members and inspired them to take action in their Section, District and/or the Society. During this annual event, attendees gain valuable training in leadership and get the opportunity to exchange ideas with each other and AWS Staff. To date, well over 600 AWS volunteers have participated in the event and many have held prominent committee roles within AWS and have served on the AWS Board of Directors.
This year’s Leadership Symposium will be held from July 28-21st in Miami (Doral), Florida at AWS World Headquarters and each District will select its representatives during their annual conference. Following the District’s Representative selection process, each Section will have an opportunity to sponsor one of its nominations, if space permits as it’s first-come, first-served. Event costs associated with the District Representatives or the Section-Sponsored Representatives will be covered by AWS WHQ or by the Section.Â
If you are an active member who will accept the responsibility of being a leader within our Section and District, you are encouraged to complete this nomination form at least two weeks before your District Conference. Our conference is on June 1st, so the deadline would be May 18th.
