Weld repairs are heavily regulated by modern engineering codes, and for good reason. Problems can be made worse by the misapplication of otherwise well-intentioned welding. What happens, though, when weld repairs are needed on unique structures that the codes never considered? What happens when following the code might worsen the problems you’re trying to fix?
