Section/Officer Meeting & Komatsu Plant Tour

Tuesday, June 14th

This meeting will consist of a meeting to elect new officers and a plant tour at Komatsu in Duffield, VA.

If you are interested in being an officer in our section or know someone that is, please come at 5:30 PM. If you would just like to come for the tour, come at 6:00 PM.

About the tour!

The Komatsu center of Excellence is a source for aftermarket continuous miner rebuilds, OEM cutter head gearcases, and Armored Face Conveyor gearcase rebuilds.

This plant does some heavy welding. The equipment is very interesting if you have never been in the mining industry. Come spend some time with us.
If you are interested in attending, please register for the event so we have an idea of the number of people to provide PPE for. Hardhats, Safety Glasses, and Steel Toed Shoes are required and some will be available based upon the number of people registered.

About being an officer.
Our section covers a wide range of industries, locations, and job titles. Becoming an AWS section officer may be a great way to become more active with AWS and share your thoughts and views on a section level, district level and national level.

The meeting at 5:30 PM is for any that are interested in becoming an AWS Holston Valley Section Officer or anyone who may have something to share with any officers related to our Holston Valley Section operation.

I know this is a late in the year meeting but please come see some fine welding in the Southwest Virginia area. This is a great opportunity for folks in the SW VA area to come to a meeting.
