Event Summary: On September the 12th through the 15th, the Green and White Section hosted their annual Tunbridge Worlds Fair interactive AWS information / welding booth in Tunbridge Vermont. The activities included live, hands on welding and cutting demonstrations, a virtual welding station, scholarship and membership information, welding career / industry information, a welding equipment raffle, and a simple welding contest for anyone that wanted to try out their skills. The contest was open to anyone, at no charge, for the chance to win a new Jackson welding helmet. Winners were awarded helmets each day with a total of 8 helmets being won during the four day event.
The AWS booth was visited by an estimated 200 + people over the four day event. The Northland Job Corps welding program in Vergennes, VT, sent a bus load of welding students for a visit on day two. The event was managed by District One, Green and White members and volunteers. The event was also co-sponsored / supported by several businesses that donated equipment, time, and products for a very successful event. The AWS booth also won a third place fair ribbon for content, interest, and layout.
