Classroom Visit:
U of I Bicycle Building Class

Wednesday, February 15th – 10:30 AM

University of Iowa – Iowa City, IA

Steve McGuire, professor of metal arts and 3-D design and Studio Division coordinator in the UI School of Art and Art History, created a curriculum for the class in 2010 to foster collaboration between the College of Engineering and the School of Art and Art History. Students are given a choice of using either steel or titanium for their frame, design their bike in AutoCAD, then begin measuring and cutting tube while at the same time learning to TIG weld in the shop.

Please join us to visit their class to see this unique course offering by the University of Iowa
