Join us on Wednesday, May 13 at 5:30PM EST to hear from Michael J. O’Connor, Executive Director, The Connecticut Port Authority.
The Connecticut Port Authority was established in 2014, and its mission is to grow Connecticut’s economy by strategically investing in the state’s three deep-water ports and small harbors to enable each to maximize its own economic potential.
Michael J. O’Connor is a longtime Connecticut resident and Navy veteran. Prior to joining the Connecticut Port Authority, O’Connor completed a 32-year career in commercial nuclear power, most recently as the Vice President at Dominion Energy’s Millstone Nuclear Power Station in Waterford, Connecticut.
He is an elected member of the town of Bozrah’s Board of Finance and has been the chairman for 26 years. Mr. O’Connor is Vice Chair of the Mitchell College Board of Trustees and a past member of the Southeastern Connecticut Water Authority.
Mr. O’Connor’s discussion will include a description of Connecticut’s ports, maritime businesses, including the New London State Pier’s journey into the offshore wind industry.
