Glenn M. Rhoades III Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in memory of Glenn M. Rhoades III for a student in the Industrial Technology: Welding Technology Concentration program at Southeatern Louisiana University.

Glenn spent more than 50 years working in metallurgy, welding, and metalworking.  For the last several years, Glenn served on the Advisory Board at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he was instrumental in the development of the welding and inspection program. On many occasions he visited the school to give technical presentations, and he provided numerous tours of his foundry to classes at SELU.  Glenn was passionate about inspiring young people to achieve their dreams, always stressing the importance of a strong work ethic.

He offered internships to students and hired many after they graduated.  His scholarship will be awarded annually to an Industrial Technology student at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he is greatly missed after leaving an impact on so many.
