This meeting will be a follow up to last month’s presentation by Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. This month, they will take us on a virtual tour of their facility.

Tour 2 – In-Person

The National Center for Asphalt Technology

Wednesday, April 21, 2021

5:00PM CDT

Guest Speaker:

Travis B. Walbeck, PE UT WV, Training Manager/Engineer

Overview:

We will hear from Travis about who and what NCAT is, then move to the research laboratory (in the same building) to tour and highlight the custom and production style testing equipment. Later, we will leave the NCAT building and commute to our outdoor laboratory in Opelika. It takes 20-25 minutes to make the drive, and we’ll plan on touring the outdoor facility until approximately 7pm.

Please park in the lot, and go through the front entrance.

Please be mindful of COVID precautions. Masks are required, and will NOT be provided. You must bring your own. There will also be a temperature check at the door. Thank you for your cooperation!

In Georgia to include Troup, Meriwether, Harris, Heard and Muscogee counties.
