Event Summary: DR. MICHAEL PAGAN requested a tour of their welding lab& meeting for us to speak with their engineering students about how UGA could benefit from collaboration with AWS and continued steps in their application process to become a new Student Chapter. Robert discussed the mission of AWS and how it would benefit the engineers, faculty, and institution. ROBERT, RENE,TOM from ATL . SECT. committee members toured their welding lab before the meeting. ROBERT, RENE, AND TOM spoke about their personal work backgrounds and how AWS was helpful in their careers. ROBERT discussed the benefits of membership and how to apply for AWS scholarships for new young engineering students. ROBERT had all the students introduce themselves and find out what engineering classes they were taking , afterwards questions were fielded from the students. ROBERT brought some different varieties of welding samples for the students to look at and ask questions. Robert suggested coming back on another day for some hands on training.
