AWS Alaska Section member, Leslie Daugherty SE, PE, received her Master of Science degree in Welding Engineering from the Ohio State University in December 2021. Leslie completed her degree online while working full time as a Senior Bridge Engineer for the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF). She is also a member of the AASHTO metals fabrication subcommittee responsible for joint publication of the AASHTO/AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding Code. She greatly appreciates the research support provided by her advisor, Dr. Carolin Fink, the DOT&PF, Federal Highway Administration, and High Steel, LLC.
