The American Welding Society Foundation awards over $2 million annually for education and training in welding and related fields!<\/strong><\/p> Students in the Wheeling Section may be eligible for the following scholarships:<\/p> National, District, and Section Scholarships – Deadline March 1st for the following fall term<\/strong><\/span><\/p> National Scholarships<\/a> District Scholarships<\/a> Section and District Named Scholarships<\/a><\/strong><\/p> Ed Cable\/Bug-O – District 7 Scholarship<\/strong><\/p> This scholarship is sponsored by Bug-O Systems to honor Mr. Cable, and is for a student pursuing a certificate or degree in welding or a related field with an interest in welding automation or mechanization. The student must be full time with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and have an interest in welding automation or mechanization.<\/p> District 7 Women of Gases & Welding Scholarship<\/strong><\/p> Founded in November 2011, the Women of Gases & Welding (WGW) has a mission to enhance the success of women in the gases and welding industry through advocacy, recruitment, and professional development. <\/strong>For students pursuing a specific degree at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university. Scholarships range from $3,000 – $5,000+.
<\/strong><\/p>
<\/strong>A minimum of $15,000 is available in each of AWS’s 22 Districts for students pursuing a degree or certificate in a welding or welding-related program. Scholarships typically range from $1,000 to $2,500+.<\/p>
For students seeking welder training in a certificate program less than two years in length through a trade school, community college, or other facility providing welder training.
