Pike Central Vocational Welding students swept the top five places at the Region 4 Skills USA Welding Contest held at Vincennes University on Saturday, February 3. Six Pike Central Vocational Welding students competed with Forest Park junior Elliott Wiseman placing first. Elliott received a $2,500 scholarship from Vincennes University; and a $5,000 scholarship from Ohio Technical College.<\/p>
Placing second was Pike Central senior Chase Brenton. Chase received a $1,000 scholarship from Vincennes University; and a $3,500 scholarship from Ohio Technical College.<\/p>
Placing third was Forest Park senior Luke Jacob.\u00a0 Luke received a $500 scholarship from Vincennes University; and a $2,500 scholarship from Ohio Technical College.<\/p>
Placing fourth was Forest Park Junior Nick Werner. Nick received $500 scholarships from Vincennes University and Ohio Technical College.<\/p>
Placing fifth was Forest Park senior Nick Seaton.\u00a0 Nick received $500 scholarships from Vincennes University and Ohio Technical College.<\/p>
The top five students from each region will advance to the State Contest that will be held at J. Everett Light Career Center in Indianapolis on April 13-14.\u00a0 The state winner will represent the State of Indiana at the National Contest held during the last week in June in Louisville, Kentucky.<\/p>
