Come join us in St. Louis, MO! Ranken Technical College \u2013 St. Louis will be hosting our Section’s Meeting on April 24th at 6:00 PM CST.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The St. Louis Section of the American Welding Society (AWS STL) would like to invite you to nominate one of your currently enrolled welding students to be recognized as an outstanding welding student. The AWS STL annually takes this opportunity to acknowledge the area\u2019s top students at our student night held in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are inviting each of you to select one student from your welding courses as your most outstanding welding student of the year. How this student is selected, each year is determined by each school, some will have a welding competition and others will choose the student who has taken the time to help other students. The AWS STL board members feel that selecting one outstanding student from each program will help to promote student involvement and participation in your welding courses and in the American Welding Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a great opportunity to see one student from each of our schools recognized for their achievements. You will have the opportunity to introduce your student, but please limit your comments to two or three minutes. The student is not expected to talk but will have their picture taken with their instructor and the section chairperson. A group picture of all outstanding students will be submitted to The Welding Journal for publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please honor your outstanding student by taking some time to think about your students and selecting one to be honored along with others from around the area. Feel free to set the criteria for winning this honor in accordance with your own particular situation. Once you have made your decision, please submit the students full name to Travis Jumper at tjumper@lc.edu, NO LATER THAN, April 17th, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, we will have the panel of Union Representatives talking about career opportunities. We encourage each student to invite their family members to share in their accomplishment. Food will be provided, complements of AWS STL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
