Hello AWS STL Members,

As we look at the upcoming year of AWS events to start up again I wanted to send you an email with our tentative schedule for the year. I also wanted to ask all of our members what technical events you would like to have? In the past we have done events around oxyfuel cutting and welding, welding gas production and storage, and virtual weld training equipment. This past February John over at TitanNova did an awesome job talking about the use of lasers for cutting, welding, and cladding.

If you have an idea for a technical event please get ahold of Travis Jumper (tjumper@lc.edu) and let him know if you would like to volunteer to provide a technical meeting for the members, or if you have an idea for a technical meeting email Travis.

We are also looking to start touring welding and fabrication facilities throughout the St. Louis Section. If you or your company would be interested in allowing AWS members to see your facility and talk with us about what you and your company does, let Travis know. These tours are limited to no more than 30 people and usually run about an hour and a half. We try to use these tours as an opportunity for welding students to learn more about what the industry has to offer in our area.

In the past many of these tours have been focused around the St. Louis Metro, we are trying to make an effort to go and visit places throughout the St. Louis Section. Please let Travis know if you would be interested in either a technical meeting or allowing us to visit your fabrication shop.
