Greetings AWS Members and Friends,

We invite you to join us for an Oxy-Fuel Safety Training at Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, IL. Our guest speaker will be Kevin Showers with ESAB Cutting and Welding. Mr. Showers has spent 26 years of his career in the cutting industry with the majority of that time with Victor Equipment. He will be sharing several safety tips that may help prevent accidents from occurring when using a cutting torch. Some of the topics to be discussed are the triangle of combustion, cylinder identification and handling, gases in the work area, equipment set-up, torch inspection, leak test, and proper shut down. Our host, Southwestern Illinois College Belleville Campus, was established in 1971 and draws students from throughout the district for its credit and noncredit classes, programs, services, student organizations, and community events.

The tour is open to everyone over 16 years of age. No shorts or open toe shoes. Please RSVP if you would like to attend so we can get an accurate count.
