2025 Weld-Off Recap
Hello! This is Dan Shinault, section chair for SWVA 179 and I just wanted to recap on our 2025 Weld-Off held at Daytech on 11/5/25. Big thanks to everyone who came out and participated, and congratulations to the winners!
- 1st place-Jonathan Matias ($2,500 AWS Scholarship)
- 2nd place-Carter Gower ($1,500 AWS Scholarship)
- 3rd place-Richard (RJ) Hopkins (ESAB Savage welding helmet).
Thank you again to Mr. Wagner and William Fleming for hosting. Mark Sapp, our district director was also in attendance to hand out the scholarships.
