We had the privilege of touring the world renowned Paley Studios<\/a>! Special thanks to Albert Paley for providing this opportunity and also Jennifer Laemlein, Paley Studios Director, for facilitating a great tour and helping to organize this event! 38 attendees spent an exciting evening visiting Paley Studios.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Our June Chicken BBQ Meeting went great! We had over 35 attendees and presented the American Legion with these two amazing metal sculptures. Both sculptures were created by high school welding students from local BOCES. Thank you to everyone who helped make this year a big success! Stay tuned for our Fall meeting schedule.<\/p>\n Congratulations to our $1,000 Rochester Section Educational Award winner, Hayley Achter! Pictured here is Secretary Scott Lord with Hayley. Our ticket sales for events and fundraisers go toward scholarships and awards to deserving students just like Hayley. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Thank you to everyone who attended our March 28th meeting! We had the pleasure of hearing from our Student Liason and Spencerport BOCES instructor, Josh Padlick. In addition, we learned about SciAps<\/a> and their x-ray and laser alloy identification equipment.<\/p>\n Our January 2017 Meeting was a huge success at Acro Industries! The Meeting featured 30 attendees for a 2-hour plant tour. Special thanks to Acro President, Bob Coyne, and our very own AWS Technical Representative, Rich Manginell. Here’s to a great year for the AWS Rochester Section.<\/p>\n The AWS Rochester Section had the great pleasure of facilitating a morning and evening meeting with AWS President David L. McQuaid. David spoke on the topics of heat straightening and also field welding repairs.<\/p>\n March 28th, 2017 Public Meeting from 5:30pm-8:30pm<\/strong> Thank you to all who attended our Fall Kick-Off Meeting last night! Special congratulations to our Fabtech Raffle Winner, Scott Combs! Pictured here is Vice Chairman Tom Capuano, Scott Combs and Treasurer Scott Lord.<\/p>\n The new meeting schedule will be available soon. Please check back for upcoming events.<\/p>\n Congratulations to our AWS Rochester Section Scholarship Winners! Pictured here alongside Chairman Kevin Adair is Mr. Aaron Buckland, winner of the $500 reward. In addition, $300 was awarded to Mr. Chris Seils and $100 to Mr. Ethan Hall.<\/strong><\/p>\n AWS Rochester Section presented the American Legion in Henrietta a welded metal sculpture purchased at the Upcycle for Autism Fundraiser. Pictured here is AWS Educational Chairman Scott Lord, American Legion Manager Ralph Litzenberger and also AWS District Director Michael Krupnicki.<\/strong><\/p>\n Upcycle for Autism was a fundraiser for AutismUp sponsored by our Rochester Section and local BOCES. The event raised $15,000 gross revenue for AutismUP and 6 Vocational Tech Centers (36+ districts) created 63 sculptures that were auctioned in June!<\/strong><\/p>\n The AWS Rochester Section hosted another successful meeting to start off the new year!<\/strong><\/p>\n Our November 2015 meeting was a huge success! Special thanks to guest speaker Jim Brognano and all those who attended the meeting. Our NEXT MEETING will take place January 12th, 2016 at 5:30pm at 260 Middle Road, Henrietta, NY.<\/strong><\/p>\n Great Success for First 2015 Meeting!<\/p>\n Thank you to all who attended our October 13th Meeting! We had over 70 attendees consisting of students, educators, welders, machinists, engineers, distributors and business owners.
