September 2019 Section Meeting<\/strong>
Thursday, September 5th, 2019<\/strong><\/h2>

Greetings AWS Puget Sound Olympic Section Members and Friends,<\/p>

Below are the details of our upcoming dinner\/meeting.<\/p>

<\/a>DESCRIPTION<\/strong>
We\u2019re starting our 2019\/2020 year in the SODO area at The Derby Restaurant at The Shop, a self-described Country Club for Gearheads. After dinner there will be a tour and then presentation on 110\/220 welders by:<\/p>

Brandon\u00a0Wilke of Airgas with Justin\u00a0Wineke of Red\u00a0D\u00a0Arc<\/strong><\/p>

Brandon is the newest member of the Airgas Advanced Fabrication team. Brandon worked at SpaceX in Los Angeles, providing welding-engineering support to a team of GMA and GTA welders, and three Fanuc robotic GMAW systems, that worked on the aluminum thrust structure for the Falcon 9 launch vehicle. He has also worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at Exotic Metals in Seattle, where, after the installation of an ABB laser welding system, he wrote the welding procedures and programmed the robot for a seamless transition to the production team, as well as designed tools to reduce production time for welded parts\/flight hardware. As a hobby, Brandon designs tools and other gadgets to be 3D printed at home.<\/p>
