Recap: Philadelphia Carpenters Welding Competition

Event Summary: A student welding competition held by the Carpenters Union of Philadelphia in conjunction with AWS District 2, J.A. Cunningham, Naval Institute of Philly, Keen Gas, Lincoln Electric and Tri-Steel. Seven students placed and received awards for their hard work and welding skills.

The welding coupons that were prepared for the students before the kickoff of the competition.
First places weldments. First place went to Nathan Sanders of Abington H.S.
First place winner with his prizes for his hardwork and dedication to perfecting his welding skills.
Second place winner, Caden Cassidy of Bucks County Technical High School.
Third place winner, Chase Kelly of Timber Creek High School.
Judges working to ensure the safety of the students as well as the accuracy of the welds and their appearances.
The AWS District/Section and the Millwright Local 219 did an exceptional job sourcing prizes for the students from companies like J.A. Cunningham, Keen Gas, Lincoln Electric and many more. Hats off to those companys who keep the flame light to continue inspiring the younger welders!!!
