Section Member Meeting

Philadelphia Section Members:

We have made numerous attempts to have an in-person meeting, and finally able to start doing so! However, may change due to various locations in the area with Covid concerns, their guidelines as well as the Philadelphia area mandates. We will make every effort to continue in person meetings going forward. Please join us!

Meeting will be In-Person (Masks will be required).
Food will be provided.

Agenda:

  • Meet the board.

  • Rhoads Industries discussion on its History, Job opportunities and the services it covers (no shop tour due to construction and restricted areas.

    • Rhoads Industries will take resumes (visit their web site www.rhoadsinc.com for present opportunities) and answer any questions about the company

  • Rich Corbit will speak about the AWS / ASME codes their history, reference material and acceptance criteria, Rich has over 40+ years with theses codes and in the development/qualification and writing of welding procedures. Is active on various Committees for both the AWS and ASME.

  • Steve Catherman CWI has been in the welding Industry for 40+ years in the welding Industry as well and will speak briefly on the technical publications for MIL/DOD work, their reference material (TP278 and TP1688) and acceptance criteria (MIL-STD-2035).

  • Section updates

  • AWS Scholarships

  • Door prizes at the end of the meeting to include:

    • (1) $100, and (2) $50.00 Gift certificates will be raffled

In Pennsylvania to include Philadelphia and Delaware Counties.  In Chester County south of Honey Brook, and the south half of Bucks Mercer, Burlington, Ocean, Atlantic, Camden, Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland and Cape May Counties.
In Delaware to include New Castle, Kent and Sussex Counties.
In Maryland to include Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Caroline, Talbot, Dorchester, Wicomico, Somerset and Worcester Counties.
