About CHART

From the early days of pioneering heat transfer solutions for cryogenic liquefaction to today’s green energy challenges. CHART has been there every step of the way.

We have over 160 years of history  starting back in 1859. Heat exchangers were among the earliest ancillary products developed.

1963  Minnesota Valley Engineering (MVE) provides the first liquefied nitrogen storage tank for artificial insemination.

1984 MVE Installs the first bulk CO2 tank for soft drink carbonation at McDonalds’ restaurant

1992  Holmes brothers establish a public holding company names Chart industries.

2022 Chart and Ballard Power Systems successfully test a liquid hydrogen fuel cell in New Prague Minnesota.

Please wear closed-toe shoes (steel toe if you have) and dress for the weather as you will be walking outside between buildings, and some of the shops get pretty warm. 

 

Overview

Here’s a short breakdown of what we have scheduled:

  • Arrive at ~0930 for sign in and, light breakfast ( doughnuts and coffee )
  • 1000 –kickoff : introductions and safety video
  • 1100 –tour of the campus
  • 1200-1300 lunch
  • 1300 — meet in the training room for presentation by CHART on vacuum technology, cold stretch process,  D1.1 and ASME code use and compliance
  • 1400-1430 — Q and A wrap up

      All visitors must follow COVID Precautions:

  • Wash your hands: We also have hand sanitizer available throughout the facility 
  • Use the temperature check: All visitors and employees are required to have their temperature checked prior to entering the facility. 
  • Stay home: If you are not feeling well, have any symptoms of COVID, or have had exposure to an individual within 10 days of your tour, please stay home.
  • If you are awaiting the results from a COVID test: Please reschedule your visit.

Please note: If you type “Chart” into a GPS typically brings people to the wrong location. This building is on the corner of County Road 21 and 7th St NW. Use the 7th Street entrance and use the visitor parking. If you can see the flag poles, you’re in the right spot. For security purposes, our doors remain locked during the day.  Please use the phone in the entryway to give HR a call upon arrival (208180, the number is listed next to the phone).
