Texas High School Welding Series Competition<\/h2>

The North Texas Section is assisting with the Texas High School Welding Series Competition (TXHSWS) this year.\u00a0There will be 3 of these events between now and the end of the school year in 2022. The first event is scheduled for October 23rd at Alvarado High School (see the TXHSWS website at\u00a0https:\/\/sites.google.com\/view\/txhsws\/txhsws<\/a>\u00a0for details).<\/p>

We’re asking for volunteers to assist with the competition, we need CWI’s to provide visual inspections, volunteers to monitor booths and keep time on the competitors and various other duties. If you would like to volunteer for a few hours to help or perhaps your company would like to set up a job fair booth at the event, please contact us at\u00a0northtexas@awssections.org<\/a>. We’re also in need of donations of prizes and items that can be awarded to the winners. We need donations for the following:<\/p>

  1. Door prizes for food drive (food donations will be sent to various food banks and food pantries)<\/li>
  2. Prizes for contest winners (24 total)<\/li>
  3. Scholarship funds for contestants<\/li>
  4. Donations to pay for student memberships ($15.00 per student)<\/li>
  5. Donations to purchase boots for students who need them<\/li><\/ol><\/div><\/div><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

    Silent Auction<\/h2>

    Your American Welding Society (AWS) North Texas Section Annual Silent Auction will be held on November 9th, 2021. We are asking for donations for the auction and all proceeds from the auction are used to support our annual student scholarship program.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

    The Tim Hatten CWI\/CWEng Scholarship\u00a0is available for all North Texas Section Members who are interested in advancing their carriers and taking the next step.
