Event Summary: On November 12, 2025, forty members of the American Welding Society (AWS) visited Linde’s facility in Tonawanda, New York which as a regional center for engineering and procurement supporting air separation, hydrogen, and syngas plant technologies, and also incorporates research and development.
Members of the American Welding Society, including welding students and instructors from the Northland Workforce Training Center and SUNY Niagara, visited Linde’s Tonawanda, New York facility for a technical tour highlighting the company’s role in industrial gas production and application. Participants received a detailed briefing on the fundamentals of air separation and the range of gases produced for manufacturing, energy, and related sectors.
The program continued with a guided tour of the site, where attendees observed welding demonstrations using C-10 Argon and evaluated the resulting reduction in fume generation. The event provided members with insight into both large-scale gas production technologies and their practical implications for welding performance and safety. AWS members were introduced to several of the research and development activities conducted at the Tonawanda facility that directly support advancements in welding technology
