The American Welding Society Foundation awards over $2 million annually for education and training in welding and related fields!<\/strong><\/p>

Students in the Northeast Tennessee Section may be eligible for the following scholarships:<\/p>

National, District, and Section Scholarships – Deadline March 1st for the following fall term<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

National Scholarships<\/a>
<\/strong>For students pursuing a specific degree at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university. Scholarships range from $3,000 – $5,000+.
<\/strong><\/p>

District Scholarships<\/a>
<\/strong>A minimum of $15,000 is available in each of AWS’s 22 Districts for students pursuing a degree or certificate in a welding or welding-related program. Scholarships typically range from $1,000 to $2,500+.<\/p>

Section and District Named Scholarships<\/a><\/strong><\/p>

Nancy C. Cole Scholarship (District Named Scholarship)<\/strong><\/p>

Nancy Cole served as AWS President in 2013. Prior to forming her own company, NCC Engineering, Mrs. Cole was program manager and contract manager at Oak Ridge National Laboratories, where she was awarded three patents. At ABB Combustion Engineering, she developed welding electrodes, fluxes and flux-cored wires. She served as chair of the AWS Technical Activities Committee, Fellows Committee and C3 Brazing and Soldering Committee. She has received the AWS Honorary Member Award, the Dr. Rene Wasserman Award and the McKay-Helm Award and is an AWS Fellow.<\/p>

This scholarships is for a female student pursuing a Certificate, Associates or Bachelors in a welding or related program. There is a preference for a student from the Northeast Tennessee Section.<\/p>

District 8 Women of Gases & Welding Scholarship<\/strong><\/p>

Founded in November 2011, the Women of Gases & Welding (WGW) has a mission to enhance the success of women in the gases and welding industry through advocacy, recruitment, and professional development. Functioning as a committee within GAWDA (Gases and Welding Distributors Association), WGW designs professional development programming for women at national conferences and engages sponsors to support programming and scholarships for women.<\/p>

Jimmy Walker Sr.\/Saf-T-Cart Scholarship<\/strong><\/p>

This scholarship is for a student who is enrolled in the Welding Program at Coahoma Community College.<\/p>

Gary Enders Scholarship<\/strong><\/p>

This scholarship was established by nexAir in honor of Gary Enders.<\/p>
