Greetings! This year’s welding competition will be held at the College of Central FL, 15390 US-19, Chiefland, FL 32626. The competition will begin at 4 PM on Tuesday Oct 13th 2026.
We will have two different categories competing:
One level will be high school-only with a maximum age of 18 years old. Students competing in this class must be either attending a high school welding program or be dual enrolled.
The other level is our usual 1st-year student, enrolled in Welding Technologies. There is no age limit for this class. Please note that students enrolled in the advanced welding program will not be allowed to compete.
Each school may bring as many as two competitors per category. The competition will include SMAW welding in various positions. Competitors will be required to weld the components in accordance with the provided drawing (drawings will not be released prior to the competition).
🏆 There will be a $1000 AWS scholarship and event trophy that will go to the winner of the 1st year welding technology class, along with varies prizes to the top 3 places for both classes.
🧢 Shirts and hats will be given out to all competitors and their instructors, thanks to our great sponsors that help out!
Instructors are encouraged to register their students as soon as possible!
