Mr. Dean Brennan with IPG Photonics and Mr. Josh Samuel with Pioneer Machine Sales, gave an informative presentation on the Laser Welding Process with several videos on the laser welding application. After the presentation, attendees had the opportunity to experience hands on laser welding. The meeting was well attended with most of the students being from Southeastern Louisiana University and surrounding High Schools, Technical Colleges, and Apprenticeship Programs within the New Orleans Section. The AWS New Orleans Section would like to thank our meeting sponsors Bryan Wong and Shawn Zhang with Streetside Market Global Cuisine and Dean Brennan with IPS Phontonis, our door prize sponsor, Mr. Ricky Byron with WESCO Gas Welding Supply Hammond, who without their support, this meeting would not have been possible. We would also like to thank our New Orleans Section Officer and District 9 Director, Mr. Anthony Blakeney for dedicating his time in putting this event together, by obtaining the sponsors, presenters, and SELU approvals, to host this event at Southeastern Louisiana University. It has been one of the best attended events this year for the New Orleans Section. We would also like to thank Mr. Josh Samuel for bringing out their demonstration\/training trailer and allowing the attendees to participate in the hands-on laser welding
