Pitt Community College Meeting Minutes<\/span>
12\/10\/25<\/span>
On Wednesday, December 10th, section 137 held its final meeting of<\/span>
2025 at Pitt Community College in Winterville, NC. With over 120<\/span>
students\/members in attendance as well as 6 suppliers and employers, many<\/span>
connections were made this evening. Students were fed dinner (Parker’s<\/span>
BBQ) while given multiple presentations from multiple employers, trying to<\/span>
encourage students to join their workforce after school. District director,<\/span>
Mark Sapp, as well as Section 137 Second Vice Chair, Charles Newkirk, gave<\/span>
presentations to students about what the Society can do for them,<\/span>
Scholarships, certifications, as well as networking. Section Chair Joe Flynn, as<\/span>
well as Section Secretary Connor Daniels, were presented with section<\/span>
awards for the year. Students were also encouraged to join through the free<\/span>
student membership. Pitt Community College also invited one of its alumni to<\/span>
speak. Connor Pizzutilla took the stage to tell students how his experience at<\/span>
PCC led him to where he is now, ten years down the road, working at Nuclear<\/span>
power plants. At the end of the night, Vendors Arc 3 as well as Air gas had a<\/span>
raffle, 5 pairs of sleeves, 6 jackets, a high vis jacket, and a welding hood<\/span>
were all raffled to students.<\/span>
