Date of Event:<\/strong> 02\/05\/2025<\/p>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Edgecombe Community College, Tarboro NC<\/p>Number of Attendees:<\/strong> 12<\/p>Presenter\/Notable Guest(s):\u00a0<\/strong>Mark Sapp, guest speaker\u00a0<\/p>Event Summary:\u00a0<\/strong>Edgecombe Community College Recruitment meeting\u00a0<\/span>Minutes<\/span><\/p>5:50 \u2013 Mark Sapp begins the meeting by asking the Edgecombe instructor about the classes he offers and roughly how many students are in their program.<\/span><\/p>6:00 \u2013 The meeting officially begins and Mark Sapp starts with an introduction about himself, his career, as well as all of the many AWS committees he is apart of. He continues to talk about the history of welding and the AWS, as well as the website he runs and the book he is currently writing, dinner has been served by this time. <\/span><\/p>6:30 \u2013 Mark begins telling the students about the benefits of AWS, and about all of the scholarships they can receive by being an AWS member, he also talks about how welders can become CWI\u2019s through the AWS and why they should consider it. <\/span><\/p>7:05 \u2013 Sapp talks about a welding hood he found while at Fabtech, he passes around flyers that show a hood with a built-in camera.<\/span><\/p>7:15 \u2013 The meeting is wrapped up with presenting the intsturctor of Edgecombe community college an AWS coffee mug, as well as a raffle for the students to receive multiple welding related prizes. <\/span><\/p>7:20 \u2013 A tour of the shop was given as well as a group photo taken <\/span><\/p>7:40 \u2013 Meeting was concluded<\/span><\/p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
